Warranty


OEM Alternatives warrants the Covered Product to be free of all defects and material which effect the performance and use of the product for a period of 1 year from shipping date or in the case of local deliveries from delivery date. This warranty applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.  OEM Alternative reserves the right to prorate credits and replacements based on an individual basis if product use exceeds 25% of that products yield or life expectancy.

Please note that any warranty services, RMA request or questions must be accompanied by the order number from the transaction through which the warranted product was purchased. The order number serves as your warranty number and must be retained. OEM Alternatives will offer no warranty service without this number and proof or purchase.

Within the warranty period OEM Alternatives will replace or repair at its discretion any part or product proving defective in workmanship or materials. All repair and replacements must be performed by OEM Alternatives or its authorized agents.

Shipping fees incurred from returns for under-warranty service in the first 30-days will be paid by OEM Alternatives. All shipping fees both to and from OEM Alternatives following this 30-day period must be paid by the customer. All returns, both during and following the 30-day period, must be affected via the Procedures for Obtaining Warranty Service described below.

Note: For damaged, defective or incorrect product, OEM Alternatives will cover the cost of the return shipping through issuance of a Canada Post pre-paid Label. If the product which is to be returned is not in transit within 5 business days the cost of this shipping label will be charged to your payment method on file. International orders will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

All parts or products replaced by OEM Alternatives or its authorized service center, become the property of OEM Alternatives. Any after-market additions or modifications will not be warranted. The owner is responsible for the payment, at current rates, for any service or repair outside the scope of this limited warranty.

Limitation or Damage:

Except as provided below, OEM Alternatives is not liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience or damage that may result from use or inability to use the product. Under no circumstances shall OEM Alternatives be liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience or damage exceeding the purchase price of the product.

The warranty and remedies set forth below are exclusive and in lieu of all others, oral or written, expressed or implied. No reseller, agent or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension or addition to this warranty.
Additional rights apply to OEM Alternative resellers and are included in our reseller agreement.


This warranty does not apply to any costs, repairs, or services for the following:

(1) Service calls to correct the installation of the covered products, or to explain the usage of the product to the buyer.

(2) Repairs necessitated by the use other than the intended use of the product.

(3) Damage resulting from misuse, improper storage, abuse, neglect, accidents, alterations or improper installation.

(4) Defects in material or workmanship not effecting the normal use of product.

(5) Corrective work necessitated by repairs made by any other person or entity not authorized by OEM Alternatives.

(6 )Laser print cartridges or Inkjet cartridges which are depleted as a result of normal use, or normal wear and tear.

(7) Character or page yield is also not covered by warranty service, as it is influenced by customer application, printer contrast settings, operating environments, printer condition, and paper type.

(8) No warranty extension will be granted for any replacement part(s) furnished to the purchaser in fulfillment of this warranty.

Return Instructions


Return of Unused/Non-Defective Products:

A non-defective product may be returned to Alternatives within thirty (30) days of the shiping date for a refund of the original purchase price with the following amendments/fees:

  1. (1) OEM Alternatives will refund neither the original shipping cost nor the shipping and handling fees incurred from the products return. If the original purchase was made under a “Free Shipping” promotion then a standard fee equivalent to the shipping costs will be deducted from any return in counter to that offer.

  2. (2) No refund will be granted for products which have been opened, used, or tampered with in any way which jeopardized OEM Alternative’s ability to remarket or resell the product. OEM Alternative maintains full discretion in decisions regarding a products fitness for return.

  3. (3) Any non-defective returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, which percentage is taken from the final purchase price less any shipping or handling charges.

  4. (4) Quantity purchases of three products or more are not eligible for return.

  5. (5) Upon granting an RMA the product must be returned within 7 days to our Ontario facility via prepaid, insured, traceable method to ensure a safe and documented delivery to us. OEM alternatives cannot be responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit to our location.

  6. (6) Returns for exchange are made for in-stock items non stock or special order items may be subject to addition fees. In the event a suitable replacement product cannot be shipped within a reasonable amount of time OEM Alternative reserves the right to issue a refund based on the above conditions.



Returns for Credit:

Returns for credit for damaged, defective or incorrect products will be processed and refunded to your credit card within 2 weeks of receipt of your return. In the case of local delivery items which were paid for by debit an OEM Alternatives company cheque or cash refund may be issued.

OEM Alternatives shall have no obligation to replace or refund until the product has been received and inspected by OEM Alternatives.





Obtaining Warranty Service

RMA (Returning Merchandise Authorization) Policy:

If warranty/returns are required the customer must obtain a RMA number and provide proof of purchase. RMA and services are rendered by OEM Alternative only. Any shipping costs after 30 days (starting from the original date of shipping) on any item returned for repair is the customers’ responsibility. All returned products must have a RMA number written clearly on the outside of the package along with a copy of the original proof of purchase inside the shipping package. No COD packages will be accepted. No package will be accepted without an RMA number written on the outside of the package. RMA numbers are only valid for times described in the relevant warranty sections.

Should you have any problems with your product, please follow these procedures to obtain the service:

(1) If you have purchased our on-site warranty, please find your warranty# (the order number from the transaction through which the warranted product was originally purchased) and fill out the RMA electronic form.

(2). An RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization Number) will be issued for shipment to our returns department along with will all shipping and return instructions. OEM Alternative will not accept any shipments without a RMA number.

(3) Pack the product in its original box or a well-protected box, as outlined in the Return Shipping Instructions. OEM Alternatives will not be responsible for shipping damage/loss of any product outside the original 30-day OEM Alternatives-paid service period. It is very important that you write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package. Ship the product with a copy of your bill of sale or other proof of purchase, your name, address, phone number, description of the problem(s), and the RMA number you have obtained.

(4) Upon receiving the product, OEM Alternatives will repair or replace your product (at OEM Alternatives discretion) and will ship it back to you within 2 weeks (dependent on parts availability).

(5) Cross-exchange: You will need to provide a valid credit card number as a deposit guarantee after the RMA number is issued. Once approval has been obtained on your credit card, the product will be shipped. You will need to ship defective part(s) back to OEM Alternative within 7 days to avoid charges to your credit card. If such charges are incurred, the shipped part(s) will be billed at the then current price.

(6) OEM Alternative will pay for shipping to and from the customer only within the first thirty days following the original product ship date. Following this 30-day period all shipping fees both for under warranty and post warranty repairs are the sole responsibility of the customer. The customer also assumes full liability for losses or damages resulting from shipping as well as all responsibility to pursue remuneration for such issues with their selected carrier.
